The Red Mountain Racers - North America's Most Successful Alpine Ski School - will be having their Alcan Nancy Greene League Race from February 24 at Red Mountain Resort.
2008 is another exciting year for Red Mountain Racers. We have 86
racers this season from ages 6 to 18. Red Mountain Racers offers
coaching and support to young skiers who desire to participate and
compete in all age categories from Alcan Nancy Greene Ski league, the
K1 and K2 programs, through FIS.
This season we have 15 FIS racers making us the 2nd largest FIS team in
British Columbia. Working together with Red Mountain Academy we are
able to offer equal time shared between education and on hill
training. Athletes travel to races across British Columbia and Canada,
and as far away as Chile for training. We are also very proud to have
Sasha Zaitsoff named to the BC ski team.
This year our club will host 4 races at Red Mountain attracting up to
500 racers and 300 - 400 parents and support people to our community.
We rely on our generous community for support and volunteers. During
some of these events we will require upwards of 120 volunteers. It is
an exciting time to get out and be a part of world class events right
here in our town.
