Volunteers (individuals, groups and organizations) help to give Rossland a spring cleaning! Lots of projects have been identified and we are also open to all of your ideas. Please contact Tracey Butler at City Hall – 362-7396 or Jackie Drysdale at 362-3323 to register ideas and participation.
The week kicks off with CLEAN SWEEP on MONDAY, APRIL 21. All businesses are encouraged to participate FOR ONLY 20 MINUTES between 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Grab a garbage bag and for only 20 minutes pick up some of the garbage that is in front of your store.
In addition to all the clean-up activities during Pitch-In Week, there will be 3 informational sessions for the public:
* Teck Cominco’s Reclamation Projects with Steve Hilts – April 22
* Plastics and Other Pollutants – Steps to Safeguard our Health and Environment with Kathy Moore and Diana Daghofer - April 23
* Organic Waste Management with the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary – April 24
These sessions are free and will be held in the Senior Citizens Center on 1 Avenue at 7:30 pm. A citizen recognition display is planned for downtown to celebrate our successes.
Please Pitch In!
